Nonsense. Computer Science is (or at least it was when I took a degree in it) is exactly about computers, their architecture, how they work and how best to get them to do what you want.
It may well be stuff that a lot of people who work with them don’t really need to know these days, any more than an astronomer needs to know too much about lenses. Astronomers would be pretty stuck if people didn’t study the tech behind telescopes tho’.

It is one of the most famous sentence by Edsger Dijkstra, who has been one of the most important person in the computer science of ever. He has been exactly the living example of the the real meaning of sentence i wrote in my blog: his algorithms, born in the beginning for the programming language, have been used in so many other fields, completely different from it and among them, that demonstrates that the computer science is applicable in pratically every field of life.
The computer scientists have not only to make the computer work. They have to study deeply all the other fields of life, to change it and to let you live better.
