The first thing you need to know is that most podcasts, including ours, are free.
Podcasting is for anyone who has a computer which is connected to the internet and has a sound card. If you can surf the web and hear little alert sounds when your email arrives or you do something wrong - then that means it is for you!
It is also great for people who have a portable mp3 player - like the famous iPod. They can listen to podcasts where and when they like, in the bath, on the bus or in the park.
To get the podcast you will need your internet connection and a piece of podcast software which is usually also available free of charge. iTunes is the most popular, the easiest to use and allows you to do many other things besides. It comes from Apple computers and so you don't need to worry about it being used to transfer anything malicious.
Each time you open this software on your computer it checks for new programmes from your chosen podcast channel and automatically downloads them to your computer and/or your mp3 player. If you like you can set the software to open automatically when you switch the computer on.
It might take a few minutes to go through the whole process - but with think it's worth the wait.
There is other software you can use to subscribe and a list is available at podcastingnews.com. For these you will probably need to copy the address of the feed - known as the RSS - from the relevant channel's page and add it to your podcast application.
To use podnosh why not go straight to the Grassroots Channel page and follow the simple steps on the sidebar.
Give it a go and please let us know what you think by emailing us at hello@podnosh.com.
